about duckpin bowling

In duckpin bowling, the pins are shorter and wider than 10-pin bowling pins and they are lighter and squatter, making them more difficult to knock down with a single ball.  The ball is also significantly smaller, with a diameter of 5 inches and weighing only about 3-4 pounds. Duckpin allows players to get three rolls per frame instead of two. However, despite having an extra roll, it’s harder to get a strike due to the smaller ball and heavier distribution of the pins. Duckpin bowling is believed to have been invented by a group of baseball players in Baltimore, Maryland, in the early 1900s. The smaller pins and balls made the game more challenging, creating a unique twist on the traditional bowling experience.
